Renewable Energy System
Real time monitoring of power system from within the Eco Stay, lets you at a push of a button see power being generated by the solar panels or the water turbine. On sunny days watch the abundant power from the solar panels being generated and watch the effect of a passing cloud on the output of the system.
Energy Use
You can view the current electrical power usage and cumulative power use for the day. Also voltages of the battery storage system can be viewed in real-time. Thus you can turn on an appliance and see its direct affect on the overall power situation.
Water Use and Recycling
Water is souced about a 1km away and piped to the house. All the waste water (both grey and black) is processed by our Biolytix Worm Farm. There isn’t much to see with the worm farm – It is a totally contained environment which basically pumps out processed water to its dispersal field when a certain level is reach in the tank.
Eco Building
Even though this is a tradtional timber framed house we have added “extras” to make it far more comfortable and longer term sustainable. Features such as orientation of the building to maximise the use of sun and natural light. Roof overhangs to block out summer sun to keep the house cooler in summer, and eco friendly insulation in the walls, ceiling and under floor. We even insulated the interior walls. This makes for more comfortable rooms but also helps allieviate sound transmission.
